Meet Jessica Jones
Jessica completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Ball State University. She then completed her Master’s degree in counseling also at Ball State in Muncie, Indiana.
Clinical Experience
Jessica is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and has been providing individual, family, and group therapy for over eight years. Jessica has experience working in a wide variety of settings including community mental health, school-based, home-based, outpatient, and also addiction treatment. Jessica is skilled in working with individuals of all ages, with a variety of backgrounds and mental health needs. Jessica also has experience leading groups, family therapy, and couples counseling as well.
Therapeutic Approach
Jessica believes in providing non-judgmental, empathetic support, but also will challenge the client to make a positive change in the ways they desire. Her theoretical orientation is mostly cognitive-behavioral, but she also loves the foundation of humanistic theories as well. Jessica believes in a therapeutic relationship that is accepting, collaborative, authentic, and that gives consideration to where an individual is in their life. Counseling should be a partnership and Jessica works collaboratively with clients to help them accomplish their counseling goals at the pace they are comfortable with. Her goal is to make sure clients feel they are not alone in their struggles in life and to help them see that there is always hope for change. Entering therapy is a courageous act and Jessica will work hard to ensure a trusting, safe, and collaborative relationship is built between her and the client. Jessica works to facilitate healing in clients but also empowers them to learn skills and tools to help them reach their goals.
Jessica provides evidenced-based practices that best fit with the goals of the clients and families she works with. She is a member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association and values continuing education and expanding her knowledge base regarding counseling techniques and practices.
