Meet LaRisha Hanks
LaRisha Hanks completed her undergraduate degree in Fine Arts and Communication at Southern Illinois University. She then completed her Master’s degree in Social Work at Indiana Wesleyan University.
Clinical Experience
LaRisha is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and has experience providing individual therapy and group therapy. She is skilled in working with individuals of all ages and diverse backgrounds, especially adolescents, teens, and young adults.
Therapeutic Approach
LaRisha approaches therapy by providing a safe, supportive, empathetic, and judgment free setting for her patients to grow and reach their goals. She believes therapy is a collaborative effort between client and therapist relying heavily on their rapport and trust. LaRisha incorporates a variety of theoretical approaches in her practice recognizing each client’s unique circumstances. These include evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, strengths-based perspective, and motivational interviewing. LaRisha strives to promote growth, understanding, and healing while also giving clients the tools they can use on their own outside of session.
