TMS Therapy

What Is TMS?

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive, FDA-approved treatment for major depressive disorder and other mental health conditions. It uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation — especially when traditional medications haven’t been effective.

Who is evaluated?

Many times, families, spouses, or friends are the first to suspect that their loved one is challenged by feelings, behaviors, and/or environmental conditions that cause them to act disruptive, rebellious, or sad. This may include, but is not limited to, problems with relationships with friends and/or family members, work, school, sleeping, eating, substance abuse, emotional expression, development, coping, attentiveness, and responsiveness. It is important for families who suspect a problem in one, or more, of these areas to seek treatment as soon as possible. Treatment for these mental health disorders is available.

How Does TMS Work?

TMS targets the prefrontal cortex, the area of the brain linked to depression. By delivering magnetic pulses through a coil placed on the scalp, TMS helps activate underactive brain circuits, improving symptoms over time.

What Conditions Can TMS Treat?
